Hi,

Is there any firewall setting on the client side that they need to set? One of my client is on a hosted 3cx and hosted by 3cx, but the call are staticky. It is hard to hear the other user. Anyway to troubleshoot this? Any setting on 3cx I need to look for or set? Currently running STUN remote. Please advise.

thank you

Hi @Song,

please be noted that STUN provisioning of IP phones, is not supported in our Hosting Environment. We highly recommend using an SBC for all Hosted by 3CX instances to avoid such issues.

That being said, static is generally not a connectivity issue. What devices are they using to make/receive calls?

They are using a yealink W56 wireless phone.

So you are saying I have to setup a SBC on premise? If I went with this route I would install a onsite 3cx. Why would I need it to be hosted. The reason I went with hosted is because all we need is internet to connect to it. Anyway I think on my firewall I need to disable sip ALG right?

We don’t forbid STUN, we just do not support it. Also, it’s just easier to use the feature-rich SBC with encryption included by default instead of using STUN with no encryption and having to spend time on the remote firewall.. Regarding sip ALG, yes it should be disabled. Please refer here for more information.

So you want to try with the app or webclient (usually mobile app is easiest as you don't have to worry about headset issues) and see if it sounds the same there.
