Hi there,

we have a 3CX which is being hosted by 3CX. We're already clear on the fact that we will have to use a SBC when we want to use our IP phones at our office.
How would we go about using those same IP phones at home? Would a SBC be needed when one of us decides to work from home when the phone has already been used at the office?

Thanks in advance

You would need to go self-hosted if you wish to use STUN.

Hi @Judako,

The SBC must be installed on the remote location where the IP phones will be configured.

I would suggest using mobiles apps or the web client when working from home if you wish to continue with 3CX hosted.

I understand that. The phones will be configured at our office where the SBC is installed. If we want to use those same IP Phones at home, that won't be possible unless we also have a separate SBC installed at home. Correct?

Hi,

Yes, your understanding is correct.

If you definitely want to use IP phones at your home, you can spin up and new SBC and configure your IP phones.
