Not sure if I am posting in the correct spot but I went to take a full offsite backup and upgrade a clients v16 to v18.

I got an email that my manual backup was successful so I started the upgrade. I got an email that it made a local backup and waited.

Finally after about 30-40 minutes I refreshed and logged in and the event logs shows the OS upgrade was successful. I then updated the system prompts and SBC.

Shouldn't I have gotten an email that the upgrade was successful like I did on instances hosted locally?

HI @jcostlow,

Have you checked spam?
Also can you send me in private message the email to check it further?

I checked my spam filter and junk folder.

The email never hit my spam filter. I will DM you the email.

@jcostlow as I can see from our logs, all emails to your "monitoring" email have been delivered with 100% success.

Thanks, I got all emails that were sent. My question is more of shouldn't the system have sent an email telling me the upgrade to Debian 10 and v18 was successful?

I tested with an on premise system and got the email as expected.

@jcostlow yes this is correct it should have. Now 1 question please, on this PBX on the Admin email, do you have multiple emails setup or only yours ?

The monitoring email (distribution group) is the only one listed.

are you using O355? I know DL's are only "internal" unless you manually enable external emails.

I believe the OP received other emails pertaining to the upgrade at that same email address, just not one specifically mentioning the OS/3CX Upgrade so it does appear to be receiving mail from external recipients.

Yes, It is an O365 group but we do allow mail from external recipients.

That is correct. I received other emails from scheduled backups and when upgrade was started.

Just an update- I upgraded another hosted by 3CX instance tonight with the admin email set to a different distribution group and got the same results. Both instances are hosted by 3CX and use the 3CX SMTP server.

  • I took a manual backup to my FTP server and got alerted once done.
  • I started the upgrade and got an email once the backup was taken by upgrade script.
  • Got email alerts that the trunks came back up
  • Logged in and saw that OS/v18 upgrade was successful in events
  • Got email that SBC trunk registered after upgrading it
I never got an email stating the upgrade was successful. It seems I only get the successful upgrade emails if deployed on premise.

Hi @jcostlow,

Yes, indeed. In 3CX hosted instances we do not send a notification email if the upgrade was successful. Only if the upgrade procedure fails will send an email to the customer.

You can acknowledge if the upgrade was successful once you're able to login into your Management Console and check the version tag in the 'Information' table in the Dashboard page.
