Hi all,

i have searched the forums and internet, but cant find anything specific. I have a data centre environment with a number of public IP's and want to host multiple 3CX instances on hyper-v.

In these https://www.3cx.com/docs/installing-microsoft-hyper-v/ instructions on installing 3CX on hyper-v, it talks about setting the static mac address. I have a vlan'd network with each public IP being on a different vlan, and one physical network adapter to the hyper-v server.

What is the recommendation on setting the static mac address as i am unable to have the same mac address across multiple VM's?

Hyper-V assigns a dynamic MAC address to a VM by default regardless of VLANs and IPs. Take a look at this article on how to assign a static MAC to a Hyper-V VM.

They need to be unique. If a VM moves to another server and doesn't have a static MAC it will obtain a different MAC.
