Hi

Upgraded to 7A today after discovering that the previous stable version I upgraded to a week ago apparently crashed the login function for hotdesking and with it the provisioning when logging in.
When dialing *77*xxxx* it doesnt ask for PIN code and more and people can call without beeing logged in.
Logoff Hotdesk is also broken. No "de-provisioning" happens.

As we have 100% Hotdesking we are now in a bit of an dilemma with 180 desk phones...

I thought so as well when we deployed the 3cx system but the quality difference when using WiFi, compared to SBC connected deskphones, is huge. I would even call it highly unreliable and therefore we have had to deploy deskphones s well as the Smartphone app.

We are using Unifi accesspoints and even if signal strenght is full and the AP is not overloaded 3cx is not really stable on Samsung S20, A40, J4, A6 phones. I had the hope that the new S20 would solve the issues but the issue continues. General instability, loss of audio that returns after 5-10 seconds, works ok for 20 seconds and then does it again.....
To be added to the problems; we have 150ms ping round trip to the 3cx server.

As it is now the WiFi network has no access to the SBC. If i install a new SBC on the WiFi network would the Smartphone be able to use it instead of its built in smartphone tunneling?

Hi Per - Interesting. But i would think this is a problem with your Wifi. I used the android app everyday as a full deskphone replacement. I have a google pixel 5 with normal wifi on router. Can switch to 4G and 5G and continue conversations no problem. Could also be some lower spec Samsung models that you are using.

If you use the app there is no need for an SBC because it has the tunnel built in.

Another option possibly better for you is to use DECT multi cell and give each their own DECT handset. Very durable, reliable and quite low cost option.....

Sorry, i have to open this thread again.

I now read about "Split DNS Requirements for v20". This is what i practically did for for the SBC setup earlier but it was "destroyed" with the update as explained earlier.

Is this new DNS requirement also included/incorporated in the SBC setup so I finally can go back to my old settings where i use FQDN instead of IP addresses to connect to the SBC's?

Yes, if you read the blog post, you will see that existing works, but no changes can be made until a later update.
