Hotdesking?

Hi guys,

i could need some help and it would be much appreciated, if you can help me out.

In our company we have a serivce counter with 5 work spaces.

Because most of the time the employees dont have a fixed work space, they turn around whilst a shift.

Would Hotdesking the only option for these employees if they would like to have the phone on the place logged onto their extension without always the need to change the phones to the place, where they have sat the previous shift?

Hi,

Yes, Hotdesking was designed exactly for this reason.

The other alternative you have, is to not use phones and instead use a PC with the webclient or windows client plus a headset.

thank you very much.

If i would like to include two of the already to extensions assigned phones in the hotdesking menu, the system says this MAC adress is already assigned to the extension xx.

But, this is curious, my snom phone is assigned to me, but in this case the system isnt be bothered.

What could be the reason?

Hi,

Yes, the message you see is correct. You cannot assign a phone to two extensions. First go and delete the phone from your extension settings to free it up, and then factory reset it so it will become ready for Hotdesking.

Would it be possible to integrate every phone in the hotdesking? One colleague is using a 765 Snom but this is not with a phone carryable.

Hi,

Almost all phones can be integrated into hot desking with the method I described above.
If you mean Snom D765, then yes it is possible for this model.
Check the list when you add a phone to Hotdesking page, and if your model appears here then it can be added:

To be precise. We have 5 Workspaces.

Two Colleagues are using the Snom D765
the other Three are using the Jabra Engage 65 Headset.

But we only have the 765s in Phones and therefore assigned to the extensions.

How can i integrate the Engage 65s in hotdesking when they are not in the system and therefore i cant get the needed MAC-Adress?

Hot desking is only for desk phones (ie. Snom, Yealink, Grandsteam, Fanvil devices), not for headsets.

For the Jabra headset, you can simply login to the 3CX Webclient and then choose your Jabra device from the settings:
