Hotfix for Public Interface/Default Gateway Installs

This hotfix is marked as beta. Is it safe to install on productive systems?

Be very careful updating to 18.8 (917).

A few days ago, I updated one of our systems to 18.8 (912) and everything looked good. I tested the Welcome Email and how you had to enter your own password and it too was good. I decided to change the Welcome Email template to my liking, which have have done many times before and everything was still good.

However, I went to update another system yesterday and I noticed that the 18.8 (912) was not available under update but v18.8 (917) was. So without noticing that it was beta, I went ahead and did the update to 18.8 (917). Sent myself a welcome email and noticed right away it was different from the previous one I tested under 18.8 (912). It had no way to allow me to enter my password to get into my webclient. I tried on several extensions with no luck to sign into my webclient. Luckily for me I was able to copy the Welcome Email template from the other system that had 18.8 (912) installed to 18.8 (917) which then had the ability for me to create my password and get into my webclient account.

Hopeful this helps someone and that 3CX can figure out the issue.

Hi Alexander,

Could you please tell us the exact version number of that other PBX you had before updating?

Hi John,

I went from 18.7 (312) to 18.8 (912) and finally 18.8 (917)

Thanks. I think that the second PBX which had the issue, probably had a modified template from .312 which we won't touch during the upgrade.

If that was indeed the case, then It will not contain a way to reset your password because the new method and variables had not yet been invented when that release was out. These variables generate the "Click Here" link you see below, and depending on the installation type you might see 2 separate links.

In these cases, simply remove the custom template, and then edit the original again to your liking. The original will contain all the necessary variables to reset your extension.

This can be done by deleting the MAILTEMPLATE_EXTWELCOME_CUSTOM parameter, and then going to Settings > Email > Email Templates to create a new custom email based on the latest original.
