How do I refresh the certificate when I cannot log in to the console?

did you try from chrome or FF browsers?

you have no others fresh backup since Nov. 2018?

Do you have error or critical messages in windows system eventvwr ?

  1. Do you have an idea, what can I do now to get to 3CX via www?
  2. Is it possible to access 3CX through SSH, Telnet or in some other way in Windows?
  3. Is there any command that I could send to 3CX so that 3CX would backup system settings (internal numbers, SIP trunks, queues, broadcast groups, input and output rules, etc.), licenses, call billing, voicemail, etc.? I need backup now (in the actual moment) because I assume that I will have to install 3CX from the beginning.
  4. If I can't log in to the 3CX console and I have no way to backup, will the following solution work: I put a new disk in the server, install a fresh version of Windows 10 on it, a fresh version 3CX. The “old” drive on which Windows 10 and 3CX is currently located, I connect to the server as a data-only disk and download from it the appropriate 3CX files containing 3CX system settings, licenses, call billing, voicemail, etc. and copy them to the new disk in 3CX directories, which are currently empty (I overwrite empty files with data files). I restart the system. Will this solution cause that after restart the new 3CX (on the new disk) will start with the data substituted from the current (“old”), malfunctioning 3CX installation?

I think I have a serious problem with PostgreSQL and VSS. Can I receive the "Server Error" message because of this?

Hi Jarret,

If there is something broken (ie. PostgresSQL) there may no longer be a way to get your system back.

If you perform a fresh backup, any errors in the database will follow you because they will be part of the backup.

Please store your good 2018 backup somewhere safe, and then run a fresh backup that you can use as an experiment. https://www.3cx.com/docs/backup-restore-command-line/#h.ftdstilbt4za This may not run in case the system is too broken.

After you get the new backup via command line you have to uninstall your 3CX, and reinstall the latest version with the option to restore a backup (during installation phase not after). If you are lucky and it was just a broken software package, then you will get full functionality back. If the database was corrupted due to an unexpected shutdown or power loss, then you will still have a broken system, and should start again from scratch using the old 2018 backup

Thank you very much for your help. Exactly the information that you gave me in the last message I meant.
I didn't know that it's possible to make a copy of selected information from the 3CX system, to which it isn't possible log in via the console.

Despite the fact that PostgreSQL is damaged in my Windows and isn't working properly (which I can't log in to the console), I was able to perform without any problems a copy of all information together (ALL) and separate copies of all individual information (CH, LIC, etc.).

Thanks to you I saved all my data - once again thank you very much for your help.

One more thing:
My old 3CX system was working until October 31, 2019 - from that day I haven't used it; this 3CX system is on my old server and contains the old call history until October 31, 2019.
From November 1, 2019 I have a new, fresh 3CX system on a new server; this system has the latest call history since November 1, 2019.
I backed up my Call History on the old 3CX system using the command:
BackupCmd.exe --file=CH_pbx_backup.zip --options=CH --log=CH_backup_cmd.log
  1. I know that the zip file made using the above command doesn't contain LIC, FQDN, PROMPTS, FW, REC, VM, but I'm interested in whether this file contains ONLY Call History and nothing else? However, does it - apart from Call History - contain various 3CX system settings, e.g. queuing structure, inbound and outbound rules, extension list and configuration, etc.?
  2. Is't possible to merge (join) both Call History on the new server? Of course I know that if I restore the old CH to the new server, this way I will overwrite the new CH (I will lose it), but I wouldn't like to lose the new CH, just add the old CH to the new CH. Can it be done and if so how I can do it?
  3. I'm afraid that if such a summation of CH would be possible and if the old CH could be uploaded to the new server, if the file containing the old CH contains also other 3CX system settings, then by uploading the old CH, the new 3CX system configuration will be overwritten (lost) and the old incoming and outgoing rules, old queue configurations, etc. will appear.
Would you be able to help me and answer the above questions?

Hi Jarret,

I'm happy to hear you were able to get your data! As for the call history, the only legit way to transfer it without causing any issues is probably no longer an option for you. You would have to:

  • Backup the old system first
  • Install the new version
  • Select option to install via Restoration
  • The new system would come online and contain the old system's history
  • From that point onwards the history will continue from where you left off
  • All this had to be done before moving to a new system
So to summarise, an already existing system can only restore its own-created backups.
You cannot restore the backup from the older system to the new one and not expect to run into issues/corruption of data. That would cause any number of unexpected results and we do not recommend it at all.

My recommendation is to run a report from the old system or export the call logs for safe keeping in case you need to reference them in the future.
