Can anyone guide me How to change 3CX server public IP address from static to dynamic

Within 3cx management console , Under Settings >> Network >> External IP Configuration is it set to dynamic. do not change the stun settings

if you are using a 3cx fqdn , Std and pro may take 6 hrs for the fqdn to update , enterprise license is 6 mins

I have a DYNDNS how can i update

The beautiful part of using a 3CX FQDN and setting 3CX to Dynamic IP is that it does the DYNDNS for you, as well as the SSL certificate. It removes all of that complexity for you.

If you do have frequent IP changes though I would strongly recommend you go with an Enterprise license for a 5 minute TTL.

Now I've changed to dynamic IP, where should I insert my dynddns?

If you are using a 3CX FQDN you don't, it uses its own dyndns type service and updates the fqdn to point to the changed IP address as needed.

If you are using a 3cx fqdn, 3cx does the dns updates for you

if you are using your own fqdn, you have to manually change your dns record , 3cx does not support any Dyndns services within the product

Yes, I have internet access, and I'm able to access the portal remotely, also I'm able to register and make calls from a softphone.

on the 3cx server

1. can you ping stun2.3cx.com , stun3.3cx.com - does it return an ip address
2. Run nslookup for stun2.3cx.com , stun3.3cx.com - this command should return the IP address of these fqdn

3 run tracert for stun2.3cx.com , do you see a list of servers

if none of the above returns any info, you have a internal network issue

are you using your 3cx fqdn or you own ? Could your dyndns setup be causing issues

These are the results from the 3cx server.

I'm using a Fortigate Firewall, everything is configured properly.

From your screenshots it seems that you can resolve the STUN FQDNs but not always indicating that you may have intermittent network issues.

Do you have another PC/Server on the same network, do you get more or less the same results if you make the same tests from there? If yes, you might actually want to consider taking a closer look on the network level.

I'd also suggest doing a few nslookups for unrelated domains too such as google.com or microsoft.com to see if you get timeouts there too.

Also, do flush your dns before testing with:
ipconfig /flushdns

Note: Our stun servers will not respond to ping so timeout there is expected.

I would say you have internal network issues, as nslookup are not returning results.

I'll PM you for a bit more info on this.

I would say you have internal network issues, as nslookup are not returning results.
Can you please help me find out, it is allowed to make calls

I've just replied in our PM conversation for something to try so please take a look there.

After taking a closer look at this with @ashwingorityala we identified that the issue was caused by a Wi-Fi adapter that was connected to the 3CX Host. It was not connected to a network at all but still caused issues so only by disabling it completely we were able to resolve the issue.

For anyone else reading this do bear in mind that we do not support the use of wireless adaptors on the 3CX Host and it would be best to avoid connecting them altogether.

I'll be marking this as solved for now so please let us know if anything else comes up by starting a new thread!
