Hello,

I am new to 3CX and PBX software in general...so perhaps the answer is in front of my nose but I can't see it!

My office uses Skype currently for inbound and outbound calls and we have a live answering service answer calls to our main number for sales & support. Calls to our main 800 are patched through to our SkypeIn phone #s, and outbound calls are made through the same SkypeIn numbers--all using Skype credit. Our goal is to utilize one of our Skype numbers as a new sales number and offload those sales calls from our human answering service (which has many issues) to the PBX; thus also saving us cost of paying both for Skype credit & the answering system to handle sales calls simultaneously!

What we would like to have happen is:

1) Caller calls our Skype number and is it routed to C3X. -- I have this configured OK via Skype SIP profile and it works fine.

2) Caller gets IVR playing a greeting and providing choices -- I have this configured OK.

3) On selecting '0', caller is sent to an extension -- this is OK.

4) This extension is set with forwarding rules to goto an external number (my personal skype phone #; though ideally I would like it to go to my skype user ID) -- this is where I'm having trouble!

When calling in after the system plays the default transfer greeting, it then plays a "Call transfer failed, no answer" message.

The extension I have it transferring to is in a "not registered" state, but I think the reason for that is that we don't use real phones nor the 3CX MyPhone client--just Skype--and so I can't figure out how to register an extension in this scenario. Is that even possible?

Re: How to make an extension for a Skype account/phone numbe

It appears that the call is being forwarded from the "dummy extension" and off to Skype, but that the Skype trunk group is not able to handle more than one call, even though it shows the limit to be 10. Maybe a problem with Skype, and the number of calls that they allow? Are you able to place more that one dialled extension call (not a call forwarded call) via Skype?
