I am trying to make the PWA app work for our users, as a result of removing the electron app due to the recent hack.

I have the 3CX PWA setup with a link and pinned it to the taskbar. However if the user closes the 3CX window for any reason calls will not come through.

Is there any way to have calls come through even when the PWA window is not open? As users will inevitably close it by mistake and forget to re-open it.

The electron app runs in the windows system tray all of the time, so its not an issue if the user closes the main 3CX app window.

Hi Euroinst,

I would wait for the secure desktop app that will be released today as per the 3CX Newsletter.

"The Electron App update that we are releasing today is considered to be secure but there is no guarantee given that we only had 24 hours to make the necessary adjustments."

The PWA supports Push and notifications, so they should be getting the calls with a windows notification. If not, check that the permission is enabled.

Thanks I have enabled the permissions and there is now a notification, but there is no ringing sound.

Is it possible to set the and inbound call to have a repeated ringing sound?

Hello,

Here I'm unable to run PWA in background: if PWA and Chrome are both closed, I don't received any call notification.

Notifications are received if I keep PWA or a Chrome window opened.

Any help?

To be honest I have found the background call notifications for be inconsistent. Sometimes they work when the PWA windows is closed and sometimes they don't. Unfortunately its not nearly as robust as the dedicated desktop app was in my experience.

Unfortunately that's what I thought... It's still amazing that 3CX is pushing so hard to abandon the desktop app in favor of the PWA when the basic function doesn't even work perfectly (ringing during a call)...

I believe in the future of PWAs! But in this case it is not possible for the moment!
