How to update 3CX to reflect a company merger

Community and 3CX Team,

I am facing a company merger and I need to reflect this merger for all Information Systems. How to proceed with the 3CX Communication System? How to keep the same expiration date?

I have the following scenario:

Product: 3CX Standard (FREE) License Expires: 04/25/2023*
Calls: 16
Deployment type: Private Cloud (AWS)
Firewall: pfSense (Version 2.4.5-RELEASE-p1 (amd64))
* Due to COVID-19 the expiration date has been extended

Nowadays 3CX is registered for the Company A (FQDN, License, etc.). The Company B will assume all assets and liabilities from Company A. The Brazilian Tax Registration Number (Employer Identification Number) of the Company A has been extinguished, so the Company Name, Internet Domain, FQDN, License and everything else MUST be related to Company B. ​

Change the infos in the Customer Portal for that license.

FYI, if you have a free license, just backup without FQDN, get a new license and restore that on a new instance. This way, you can change everything and keep the old key for something else.

It will get a whole new year of 16SC then drop to 8.

The new key will have a new date but like it really matters for a free key lol

Like I said, with a new key, you get a whole year of 16SC starting from the activation. It won't use the old license (unless you check that in the backup options.)

So, whenever the key was supposed to expire with the extended date, it probably wasn't in a full year.
