I am VERY new to the 3CX and I am stating to to know it by using a simple Raspbery Pi setup.
All sorts of phones are now working correctly and I now want to "break" out using a analogue phone line as a trunk then "move" on to a SIP trunk once I understand a bit more.

I would like to do this using a Huawei AR1220V which has 1FXO and 3 FXS ports.

Has anyone managed to get this working? And, if they have, could they give me an outline of what was needed to set it up?

Cheers

John

First off, you've posted in the wrong forum. StartUP is a service offered by 3CX... https://www.3cx.com/docs/startup/

As you are running 3CX at your location, it may be possible to use the AR1220V, but I can't recall it being mentioned before in the forums, so you might be on your own.

If you are determined to make it work, I would do some Google searches to see if anyone has configuration advice when using with an Asterisk PBX.

A few points to keep in mind when using a PSTN gateway with 3CX.

You create a generic gateway PSTN trunk.
You must specify the IP and port of the trunk in the 3CX trunk settings. This is even though the device will register with 3CX.
Give the device a static IP.

On incoming calls, the Gateway will "forward" the call to 3CX using the trunk number, you created,. as the destination (one stage)
The gateway must wait to collect caller ID info, depending on the type used, before it sends the call to 3CX.

Never having used he AR1220V, I can't be of much more help. Make use of the 3CX Activity Log, in Verbose, to help troubleshoot.

Thank you.

The device was a free and looks like it could work but it looks like I have a steep learing curve to go through!

Please note that the device is not supported by 3CX and we cannot provide any assistance setting it up or confirm whether it is possible.

We suggest to skip this entirely and use a 3CX supported provider that has been tested and verified to work "out of the box".

I'm moving this post outf StartUP since this belongs to a different category.

See how far you get, what sort of logs you end up with, and I will see what sort of help I can offer. As I say, I am not familiar with that device. In theory it should work, but no guarantees. Hopefully the FXO and FXS are completely separate, within the device.
