I love 3CX. I think it is a great product at a reasonable price point with pretty solid functionality. Is it perfect? No. But does it provide good value for my clients and meet most of their needs dependably? Yes.

What confuses me is the CTO/Founder's response in this thread: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/template-support-of-yealink-flagship-vp59.75069/post-354675

This attitude he seems to have over a request by several folks to support a phone that is fantastic is extremely disappointing.

I understand it may be not possible for them to support it and that is fine. But the curt and snarky seeming response really disappointed me as a 3CX user. It have me looking at other options just because if there is what their leadership acts like can't imagine how the rest of the team will interact with their customers.

Point taken, but I prefer to look at it as a direct and honest response. No stringing folks along or any other number of tactics employed by many other companies. And most folks will never talk to a 3CX employee, as 3CX is channel focused if that is a concern.

Good point. A good example for 3CX execuitves leadership to show how one person may see a direct answer and another may see it as dissmissive. As a small business owner I always try to communicate the value in my customers/clients feedback even if I am not able to make the change or offer what they request. Saying to go somewhere else is never a good thing to tell a client. Makes them feel unappreciated. At least in my experience.

Don't forget some coloring due to cultural nuances. Nick comes from a cauldron of national cultures as well as professional cultures (sales/engineering/support). Poor Nick, so underappreciated

I agree with you @NM Tech! There is no way we can response to our clients like that. Trust me, they will find another provider.

It's not the first time i've seen responses like this.. he does it often.

Well considering that is the recommendation given that would make sense. If someone is only using a PBX product because they want a particular phone then using a different provider/product makes sense. 3CX is our primary product but it's not our only product for that exact reason.

Hi Cobaltit,

Which other product do you use and what is the main reason you would select the other over 3CX?

Well it's not appropriate to discuss other products here. When we sit down with a customer we find out their needs and wants and come up with a solution that works for them. We lead with 3CX but it's not always the best fit. This goes for all of our product lines, and even us as a company. It doesn't happen often but some times what a customer wants is better serviced by someone else.

I've seen a few of Nick's posts that are like this.

I'm not sure if it's his directness or that English is (presumably) not his first language.

I agree with cobaltit that directness is probbaly good in this instance (if you're not going to do something then best to shut it down clearly and concisely) but I've also seen other discussions where he came across as surprisingly harsh / agressive.

I suspect if you asked the guy he would probably say that it's probably not how he intended to appear.
