This happen like once or twice a month and hopefully someone experience this issues.
Running on Hyper V: standard version: 16.0.9
So today, the 3cx suddently have issues with inbound and outbound call. Internal calls are ok.
I login to the voip.ms side and made a call and it does show the call log on the voip.ms side. which mean it does hit the carrier. From the carrier i guess it try to hit the 3cx pbx. But for some reason or services is hanged or something.

When I call in I get a busy signal. On services tab I see all services are running and green. I restarted all services and the inbound call are working again.

Have anyone seen this issues before and how do i trace it down to the real cause? I think a services hang or something? Maybe the hyper V image is overloaded at some point causing this 3cx image to behave bad?

Please advise on how to resolve this. this is happening 1 or 2 time a month constantly.

Hi @Song,

Have you followed each step of our Hyper-V Guide here?

Is the firewall checker passing?

Could you also provide more information?
HI,
I didn't follow the hyper-V guide. is it neccessary to change it to static MAC address and use the windows hyper -V mac address ? won't it conflict with the mac address on the hyper-v image 3cx?

yes. I have a question on the hyper-V guideline. for the mac address static. Am i reading this correctly. They told me to get the mac address on my windows machine running hyper-V and set it static on the hyper-v 3cx image? is this correct? question is by having two mac address the same will this conflict each other please advise..

thank you

Hi @Song,

When you create a HyperV, a random MAC Address is given to the VM. What the guide says is to make a note of the MAC Address of the VM (not the host), then just set that MAC Address in the HyperV VM settings, so that it doesn't change again.

Obviously there should not be 2 VMs or devices with the same MAC on the same network as that would cause huge problems.

I see. let me get this straight.. so you saying I login to my 3cx root . shell prompt and grab the mac address. then i assigned that address always on the vmware host itself so it always have that same mac address after a reboot or for whatever reason is this what i'm hearing? But I don't changing this affect the inbound and outbound issues we facing. I guess not hurt to try.. thank you

Hi @Song,

That is correct, but also ensure that you've followed our guide's steps with regards to the time settings.
