Hi,

I've a in-bound rule with specific DDI and set both "In Office" and "Out of Offiec" to forward to Outside number.

The problem is that the forwared device, when get the call get de DDI number but should show the originator number.

My version is: 16.0.8.9 Linux

There are a number of things that come into play for this to work. To start off, please let us know what SIP Provider you are using, is it a 3CX Supported Provider, if yes, which one?

Presenting a number not associated with your SIP Trunk account as the Caller ID may not be allowed by the SIP Provider in the first place so we should check this first. It it is allowed, you might need to adjust the SIP Trunk settings a bit depending on the situation.

In that case it should be sending the Originator Caller ID yes.

Try the following:

1. Go into "Dashboard >> Activity Log >> Settings".
2. Enable "Verbose Logging" and apply.
3. Make a call from an external number to 3CX's DID and have the call forwarded to another external number as you describe.
4. End the call and then go into "Dashboard >> Activity Log"
5. Filter through the calls(if it was the last call just select the last CalID from the dropdown) and check the SIP INVITE message sent outward to the SIP Provider, do you see the "From: Display Name" and "From: User Part" values? What are they?

It's seem that 3cx works fine, i've attaches logs but in the forwarder devices show DDI number.

maybe a provider issue?

It seems so, in some cases, although the SIP Provider may allow this, they may have to first enable this capability for your account specifically so reaching out to them would be the next best thing to do, especially since you've confirmed that the 3CX PBX is indeed sending it correctly.

Hi again,

I've tested same SIP Trunk in V18 and works as spected,

I've compared settings and in both are the same.

¿Maybe in v16 need change someting?

No, it should work the same in this regard, this is confirmed by the fact that the PBX is actually sending the Originator Caller ID outward. If it had something to do with the PBX, you would still be seeing the DID on SIP INVITE sent to the provider.

You could also perform a packet capture and do the same test, then review it in wireshark if you want to be absolutely sure.

Note: Consider taking a look at our training material too(Slides 16-18)

Caller ID is showing inbound when the calls enter 3cx system

The call is then being forwarded to the external number

  • The caller ID is also showing caller id number when the call is being forwarded but the caller the alphanumeric id is replaced with the external 10 digit number

  • The actual caller id shows as our primary DID not the caller ID when the call shows up on the external number

Using OriginatorCallerID for both Display Name and User Part in the outbound sip parameters
