Inbound SMS not working.

We are trying to get SMS setup using voxtelesys. Outbound is working but inbound is not. Voxtelesys is saying the issue is the root CA cert. When checking our cert on geocerts.com/ssl-checker we get a error message about the root CA cert.


We use a custom FQDN and purchased a basic sectigo SSL from enom. In browser it appears fine and the web page loads without issue. Just looking for some guidance on how to resolve this. Do I need a different cert? Do I need to install a cert somewhere, if so where?

I thought I was dealing with a problem with my twilio trunk trying to enable 3cx SMS. However I AM able to send out from 3cx (users chat window) and send a text to a cell phone number. That goes through. But when I type a message back from the cell phone to the twilio users number it shows in the twilio message history as received, but I am seeing an error:

http response 502 Msg Certificate Invalid - Could not find path to certificate
error: Handshake failure: certificate exception


I was more sucessful in using the sms messaging on a twilio trunk on a test pbx that I had let...

The process outlined above is correct. To provide further information on how we do it:

1) Generate CSR (we use the IIS cert generation tool because we often use a wildcard ssl with a bunch of IIS services too, so having a PFX is needed)
2) Send to CA, yada yada yada
3) Complete Cert Request in IIS
4) Export as PFX
5) Convert to correct format using OpenSSL

openssl pkcs12 -in [yourfile.pfx] -nocerts -out [keyfile-encrypted.key]
openssl rsa -in [keyfile-encrypted.key] -out [keyfile-decrypted.key]
openssl pkcs12 -in [yourfile.pfx] -clcerts -nokeys -out [certificate.pem]

Solved Thread 'PEM Chain Format'

I converted my PFX cert/key into 2 PEM files, like this but I get an error in the log stating that the PEM chain cannot be loaded.

openssl pkcs12 -in SBC.pfx -out SBC-nokeys-out.pem -nodes -nokeys

openssl pkcs12 -in SBC.pfx -out SBC-withkeys-out.pem -nodes

Is there a specific command/format I need with my PEM files to get the correct format with the chain files included? I manually added the chain file additions to the bottom of the certificate pem file, but it still fails to load them properly.
