Hi.

I don't know postfix but it seems to have a problem.
I can send an email but i can't receive one.
Even between two local accounts, i can't receive one.

I've checked /var/spool/mail/root and all emails are into this account:

It seems to have a redirecting to root.
Is somebody can help me please?

Hi,

Try this :

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/ ... os-postfix

Bellow on page on the above mentioned link, you will see this:

sudo vim /etc/postfix/main.cf
-- press i
-- go to inetinterfaces
-- set inetinterfaces to all
sudo service postfix restart

Best regards,
Milan

Hi milan.
Thanks for your help.

You mean : inet_interfaces = $myhostname, localhost ?

Nothing to do.
It doesn't work.

Maybe something is broken in the config.
I remember that it worked fine in Elastix 1.6. Maybe some tuning in main.cf about the domain, but that's all.
I've made a new install up to Elx 2.5 up to date and now, that's worked yesterday, doesn't work today and with the same config.

Weird

  • I've deleted all account and the domain.
  • I've made a copy of main.cf.elastix to main.cf
  • I've recreated my domain and my accounts.
In main.cf.elastix there was:
Code:
inet_interfaces = all
#inet_interfaces = $myhostname
#inet_interfaces = $myhostname, localhost
#inet_interfaces = localhost
The virtual domain is there.

Result:
Same issue, i can't receive any email but i can send any email.
The mails received are forwared to the user root.
I can see the details in /var/spool/mail/root <- file

Hi danardf,

Check the port 25, it is open.

Best regards,
Milan

Yes it is.
Telnet server 25 responds.

Could you give me some example about the alias please.
or example, i've fax alias for email : root.

All email sent to fax account goes to root account.
I've some doubts about the alias and email elastix module.

Ok thanks i'll check these points.
However, i've a big doubt about these original Elastix settings.
It looks like to be the same result when you saving any parameters and then they aren't wrote in the config file as a problem of rights for example.
Never had as much of problems like this with postfix.
Generally, it's just a problem in the virtual domain, that's all but never had any problems with alias. Weird. :?

To be logic:
Using EWG, at first, if you create a domain, this one have to be created in /etc/postfix/virtual doesn't it?
Next, when a new email account is created, the alias are created into /etc/alias also, right?

Unfortunately, no aliases present in /etc/alias.
I think there's a bug (in the last elx 2.5 version), and i've some doubt with its integrity between postfix and email_admin module.

I'll try to make a fresh install, and making update and make some tests.
  • If it works, i'll try to copy and past the good config files into my current server.
  • If it not works, i'll send this issue in elastix bug report.

it works but i'm not happy about this way used here.
in main.cf: mydestination = localhost.$mydomain, localhost
I've deleted $myhostname.
In the files virutal & alias: i've create my two accounts.

Weird, email_admin should configure these emails correctly, but it's not the case here!

In any cases, thanks a lot milan.

Hi,

No problem, in any case we are here to help and learn about things we do not know. ;)

Best regards,
Milan
