Do I have to worry if the “Automatic updates” is set to Enable or should I disable this function?

Automatic updates do not check for OS Updates.
Automatic updates just download Critical security updates but you will always remain on the base OS system.

Hopefully this is close to being ready, especially now that the latest Raspbian images are based on Stretch and causing problems with the SBC install
