Installing on an Intel NUC fails

The Debian Installer boots and then I select install. I get a red bar at the top with 10 tiny unreadable screen images. I am trying to install on an Intel NUC 10i7FNH1. I just downloaded the standard production release. Any thoughts?

Usually this happens with newer computers trying to install Debian 9 that boot into UEFI mode. Need to see how to use Legacy/BIOS mode and then you Debian usually installs with no issues.

Unfortunately NUCs no longer support non- UEFI mode.

I think Debian10 has a bit better support for UEFI, so maybe you could try grabbing the V18 Alpha 5 ISO image from here (V18 ISO is Debian 10/Buster):

Yes, V18 is still Alpha, but hopefully it won't be for long and it is in a very good state despite this.
Also, you'll see if Deb10 does the trick.

If you see legacy mode but it is greyed out, then you can look at Intel's guide

But as Nick said, V18 won't be long now so it's a good idea to test it at least since UEFI will be the norm in Debian 10 onwards
