The instructions for configuring 3CX zone in WIndows DNS at https://www.3cx.com/docs/creating-fqdn-split-dns/ is not accurate.
In Step 1:6 instruction say Enter your zone name. This is your 3CX FQDN, for example “mypbx.3cx.eu”. Click “Next”
But in Step 2 Add New Host the screenshot shows that the created zone is called "3cx.eu"
This is not correct as a Windows Server DNS will when configured with a zone name of “mypbx.3cx.eu” also correctly show this. This will create confusion (even with 3CX Support) on how the DNS really should be configured. Should the zone name be "3cx.eu" or should it be “mypbx.3cx.eu” ?
But if you configure zone name with "3cx.eu" then Step 2:2 will not work, so this teeny little detail creates confusion how DNS config really should be done.

I would use mypbx.3cx.eu as the zone so it only overrides that one hostname, and *.3cx.eu resolves normally.

So I did. But it's not what the instructions show
