Intercom a Station

How do the settings need to be to enable somebody to intercom a station that is in use?

I was thinking that "Intercom Barge Enabled" would do this, but it seems not to.

We want some stations to be able to intercom other stations that are busy and it automatically picks up and sends the existing call to voice mail until the barging call is done.

They are Yealink SIP-T43U phones.

For an on-prem setup, this works out of the box. Just setup a multicast paging ring group. Then on the extensions, under provisioning choose the multicast ring group and re-provision the phone.

If you are using cloud 3CX then the only way to do this is with custom templates, and depending on complexity sip-multicast relay device (optional).

How are your phones connected to the pbx (local, sbc, stun), are they all at one site where you want to do this?

This sounds more complicated than something we want to tackle now. Maybe once we are no longer on 3CX Cloud this will be easier to address.
