Hello,

We are experiencing an intermittent audio issue during internal calls between two extensions.

Environment:

  • 3CX V20 Update 9
  • Cisco Catalyst 9300L switch
  • Both phones are connected to the same switch and Voice VLAN
Phones:

  • Fanvil X210V2 – Firmware 2.12.22.2
  • Fanvil V62 Pro – Firmware 2.12.20.41
As part of our troubleshooting, we disabled Call Recording for these two extensions. PBX Delivers Audio is also disabled.

During internal calls, the RTP audio occasionally becomes robotic or choppy for a few seconds, while SIP signaling remains stable.

Since PBX Delivers Audio and Call Recording are disabled, we believe the RTP stream should be exchanged directly between the phones.

No output drops, input drops, packet loss, or interface errors are observed on the switch ports.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Could this be related to the Fanvil phones or their firmware versions?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, if you are having issues with IP phones directly making internal calls on the same site, and these are set up as router phones, then the audio is between the devices themselves with the settings described are disabled.

When you reboot the phones, does the issue persist?

No, we are not using Router Phones. All phones are provisioned directly to our on-premise 3CX V20 installation. The issue persists after rebooting the phones.

Please try enabling PBX Delivers Audio and enabling Monitor Connection Quality to capture call quality statistics for the affected calls.

Alternatively, and preferably, perform a packet capture on the affected phones with PBX Delivers Audio disabled. Review the RTP streams in the capture to determine whether the audio is reaching the phones correctly.

If the RTP stream is present and the audio is being delivered correctly to the devices, the issue is likely related to the phones themselves. In that case, I recommend contacting Fanvil Support for further assistance with the devices.

Okey thanks, i will check

One other point that I noticed is the firmware of the X210, which should be :
  • Fanvil X210V2 – Firmware 2.12.25.6

Good morning,

Yes, I understand. However, we frequently encounter firmware-related issues with Fanvil phones.

For example, after upgrading the Fanvil X210v2 to the latest firmware, the phone would freeze multiple times every day until we rolled it back to the previous firmware version.

We have also seen issues with the Fanvil V62 Pro. After upgrading its firmware, in many cases it stops obtaining an IP address. After a factory reset, it successfully receives an IP address again, but once it is provisioned by 3CX, it stops obtaining an IP address.
