Hi everyone.
Not sure if this should be here or the ideas section but Is there a way to change how calls to a station in DND are handled? At the moment I can set a forward to another extension, but that doesnt really give the caller the information that the person they wanted isnt available. With my staff working remotely its hard for the person who gets the call to know that the first person isnt available.

Can we either get a "User is not available" message, or at least a "User is not available - Transferring your call" message when the call is transferred?

would it not be easier to use the webclient so that they can see everyone's status anyway and then it stops them from attempting the transfer in the first place?

the mobile app and the webclient will give you that information.

That would be true - but we have a small team still based in the office with desk phones that don't get that information. Will look into rolling out the app to them also

Forward it to a digital receptionist that plays the exact prompt you want and ends the call?

I have a fairly small install too here but we rolled out the weblient to everyone regardless if desk phones were mainly used or not. It just gives a richer experience even used together with a desktop.

And now it paid of - because when they had to move to home office work they already knew the client and how to use it from home.

First I thought that is a good idea but now I doubt myself:
why not simply set up a forward rule at the extension and record an appropriate greeting:

"this extension is currently in DND. please leave a voicemail"

Or why not just use the WebClient haha...

But yes agreed, using the DND voicemail greeting is the best option

I guess what we are wanting to replicate was the ways of the old PABX system where when a call was transferred and a station was in do not disturb it bounced back to the original staff member to redirect or to take a message
