Hi,

I am trying to create an internal speed dial.
I've created an Outbound rule to dial #9 to call the reception extension, but it is not working.

Is it possible to set this up ?

Thank you

Not possible for internal calls. Closest thing is the SIP ID, but # won't work in it.

Hello Akshay_Ramlackan,

ConceptsWeb did already mention this:
Please do the following:
Admin - System - Options - System Settings -> enable the 'Allow Direct SIP Calling'

Admin - Users - (reception extentsion) - Options - Option -> type '#9' at 'SIP ID: Must be unique per extension'

Note, you need to be able to dial #9, meaning that a lot of phones will use the # as 'End of Dial', in this case it wil not work, but that is down to the phone dialing the #9 digits.

Tested internally for myself -> Works

I am not sure how you arrived at #9 being the best choice to reach the receptionist. I'm going to suggest a similar approach -- use the SIP ID, but why not make it something simple to dial like "0" for operator?

I cannot speak for people outside the USA, but we are very familiar with the idea of pressing "0" to reach an operator. Why #9? Just because you can make it work, does not mean you should.

We are all friends here, trying to help one another arrive at the best solutions. With that in mind, my little brain suggests that "0" is a more universal approach that everyone will instantly grasp, remember, and can dial easily.
