Can anyone find the Yealink release notes? I used the link and also searched the web and can't find anything on firmware 96.87.0.22.

The firmware is specific to 3cx https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/.

You can download the firmware from the update section of the admin console, then update the phones directly from the phone's node.

Thanks Charles. I am able to download the firmware update and apply it to the phones. I was just looking to review the list of bug fixes this version addressed. When I download the firmware directly from the link you sent, it doesn't not include the release notes. Can you post the release notes?

i too am extremely curious on exactly what bugs were addressed. there's still a lingering problem of phones with no WAN port VLAN specified, but utilizing a PC Port VLAN brick on boot.

Hello,
Feel free to reach out to Yealink Support for more information on the said firmware versions or keep an eye on their website as it hasn't been yet updated. I believe the release notes should be posted eventually in each of the models > Firmware & Tool section.

Just to let you know, got one Snom D735 bricked during FW update to 10.1.215.13;, Snom ask me for a RMA Ticket.

During update phone rebooted and stay stuck all lights on undefinetly , Rescue mode didn't get it back to live

Thanks for reporting. The rest of the D735 were OK apart from this one device?

Yes all other locations went like a breeze, Snom will replace the D735 under warranty so problem has been really quickly solved.
Thanks to SNOM for their positive decision.

Is anyone else having problems updating their Yealink SIP-T46U phones? They start the update, get to about 2% on the download, and then fail. They go into a loop unless I go into the Phones -> Options and choose "Use Untested - Unsupported firmwares". This breaks the firmware boot loop on the phones. I tried downloading the firmware and uploading it to the hosted 3CX server, and this does not work either. If I flip it back to "Use 3CX Support Firmwares (recommended)", I can then download the latest firmware from Updates, however that doesn't help. I just get stuck in the firmware reboot loop.

no issue on this end. is your firmware current (less the new release) as i've seen issues jumping too many versions at once, you have to load them individually right on the phone.

Hello Colorado, thanks for the input. We were up to date until this release came out. Phones were running 108.87.0.16.

@sygnet1 please open a case with Yealink Support so they can investigate and advise you how to proceed.

Note: some customers previously faced issues with their Yealinks when they had very large phonebooks exceeding the manufacturer's recommendations (model dependent). Contacting Yealink Support to troubleshoot it is the recommended action for now.

Hello John, thank you for your reply. I do not believe phonebook size will be an issue for us. No one has more than few hundred contacts. I suspect our issue is to do with our firmware folder(s) being messed up. Unfortunately, we cannot really investigate that ourselves with the hosted version of 3CX. Then, as a partner, it does not seem I can open a support case for our NFR instance. I should mention we had a previous issue a while back where we had used the firmware clean up feature not realizing what would happen, and then the system would not pull down the most current firmware at that time. I incorrectly assumed it would only delete older firmwares, and not the current one at the time. We had to manually update our phones then. Later on, it started to work again once a newer firmware came out.

usually toggling the firmware to use unsupported firmware, waiting a minute, and toggling back to use 3cx firmware fixes that. we had a customer who's t46 phones wouldn't update, said something along the line of firmware missing, and just toggling that off and on resolved it.

Hello Colorado, per my earlier comments we already tried that.

Probably not that, but here is how you can check:

1. Download the firmware from your server directly, you can see the FW link in your phone's config file (Search for firmware.url) on the Phones tab

2. You can compare it to the file found here https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/

Hello John, thank you for that tip. I found the URL and attempted to download the file to see if that would work, however I get an "HTTP ERROR 404" message. The URL does end with the firmware version expected, however it seems our hosted 3CX server is not providing the file.

Sorry I forgot to mention you must press upgrade on the phone first since you cleared the firmware previously. This changes the URL to the final one.

And keep in mind you must NOT edit the phone under your extension settings during this time. If you edit it, the URL is cleared back to the one you saw.

Try again and let us know.
