IP Router Phones: SBC

Hi Everyone,

Hoping someone could help.

I am wondering why you would not set up each phone as a router phone vs why you would set up 1 and attach all other phones to that router 1 Main SBC Router phone.

We have a customer who does not want all their phones connected - We prefer using a router than stun as per 3CX requirements and from personal use.

Please share your opinions Below

For the remote provisioning the supported method is SBC. Currently you can use each phone as router phone or split the phones and assign behind one or 2 router phones(depends on the amount of devices). Since there is no limitation you can use each phone as router phone. Note that if you have one SBC and multiple phones behind it, if this phone loose connection others will also drop.

Making each phone its own SBC makes it portable. (E.g. take it home)

Audio for internal calls between phones behind the same SBC stays on the LAN.

If notifications are enabled for trunk disconnect/reconnect, note each router phone can trigger the alert.
