Have been looking for an answer on this for a while.
We currently have a PBX on Google Compute using their Debian image and manual install of 3CX.
Just wondering if it's possible to use the 3CX ISO at Google Compute, thus enabling us to update the underlying OS.

Currently, I have to create a new VM instance, but in order to keep the same internal IP I have to wipe out the existing VM (GCE won't allow removing the internal IP).

So I've used the 3CX method of updating the OS on manual installations and it works just fine. Snapshot your VM and then tell it to update. If it doesn't work go back. Otherwise you can backup and delete your VM and then restore via PBXExpress (as long as you are using 80/443) and not 5000/5001
