Is it correct that ISDN cards are still unsupported with 3CX? I read a few posts that they were testing it, but I've not seen anything to confirm any supported cards.

If not, what VoIP gateway device would be recommended for a UK ISDN BRI line? Would be looking at the lower end of the budget!

Now this could be read in different ways - for example beroNet do PCI(e) cards for various different line types (including BRI) however the list does not officially state that the cards are supported - beroNet ISDN BRI, E1, T1 is what it states - which could or could not mean supported.

What I can tell you is that these cards do work and are easy to setup although I am always a recommend-er of Patton Gateways (which are supported also) as they are very reliable and stable.

Oddly the BRI variants are not on the list, but do exist in the interface of 3CX PBX but only the smartnode models such as the 4120, 4634 etc.

I concur, we use the Patton gateways and they haven't given us any issues.

NOTE: Pattons newer models (running on Trinity software) are not supported by 3CX currently - I do have working templates written by Patton, however if you want to use these models you will need to stick to the range which run Smartware software.

Hopefully 3CX will support Trintiy soon, I can say however that the templates supported by Patton themselves work perfectly well, these will obviously need to be kept updated however.

If it absolutely has to work then use Patton. I've never used the Beronet cards although my first 3CX install was using a Sangoma card back when they were still supported. I've made a number of other gateways work as well such as the Yeastart TE100 which is more cost effective.

@eddv123 I can't tell from their documentation but it looks like the Beronet cards act like network cards so they just get an IP address and then you point to that as your SIP gateway? The Sangoma cards used a software piece to install that would provide a SIP interface to the card but I don't see any mention of a software piece for Beronet.

@cobaltit correct, the beroNets I used a few years back you simply mounted into a PC the same as you would a standard network card.

I used both PRI and GSM variants. They worked fine.

I prefer Patton over all gateway brands mostly due to the flexibility, functionality and build quality of the gateways, although you do need to know the interface and how it works - beroNet has the advantage of a simple interface which you can pick up very easily without needing to reference the manual.
