Good afternoon

We have a Fanvil X4Uv2 configured as a router-phone that is intermittently failing to register. More specifically, it only 'tries' to register once then doesn't retry. The internet has dropped at this particular site 3 times since we installed, and the phone just remains unregistered until it is rebooted, then it registers fine.

Is there a way to fix this? We have several other X4Uv2's at 3 other sites with the same customer working fine as SBC's. However, I am not sure if the internet at those sites has ever dropped since we installed them.

By contrast, the Raspberry Pi4 immediately reconnects to the PBX as soon as the internet service is restored. I totally understand this is a beta feature so if it's a known bug that I have to wait for, fine.

Hi Discovery87,

This particular issue was already reported to the Fanvil guys and will be fixed in the next firmware update.

Brill thanks

Aram, before I send multiple Raspberry Pi4's out to site (at a considerable cost) is there any indication as to when this firmware will be released? Where can I check this?

Hello,

There is no ETA at the moment unfortunately, however Fanvil tends to have a fast turnaround when it comes to firmware updates.

This should only be an issue if the server or internet goes down more than 5 mins (for now).

You might be able to avoid the Raspberry Pi if you explain it to the users (especially that this is a temporary matter). If you can hold it off for a month or so we might have some news on it.
