Hi

We are experiencing a problem with a new integration between 3CX and Dynamics 365. The Dynamics 365 integration is working with call journals and contact creation enabled. 3CX is able to correctly identify the names of callers, and it is possible to look up the numbers in contacts using the 3CX softphone. However, desk phones receive the contact names without any phone numbers, even though they correctly display the names of callers.

The environment:

3CX 16.0.1 running on Debian 9 (Dell PowerEdge R710 with vSphere Enterprise 6.0)
- Public IP address with Sectigo 8192-bit SSL
- Cisco IOS Firewall which should be allowing all relevant traffic
No Session Border Controller
Yealink T48S test phone (brand new) - Require trusted certs disabled and 3CX cert chain installed (would not retrieve phonebook otherwise)
- On LAN IP (DHCPv4), behind NAT from Cisco ASA 5505, with public IPv6 address

I have looked at the phonebook URL and see entries such as the following: (last few digits of number changed for privacy)

XML:
<DirectoryEntry>
  <Name>3CX Contact +31307160101 New</Name>
  <Telephone/>
</DirectoryEntry>
<DirectoryEntry>
  <Name>Client Name</Name>
  <Telephone/>
</DirectoryEntry>

In each case, "Telephone" is empty, yet I can see the number on Dynamics 365 under Business Phone. Also, if the number calls, the name appears on the display.

Side issue - All of these entries have had their names changed from the "New 3CX Contact" default, and allocated to the appropriates client accounts in CRM, but most are still showing "New 3CX Contact," though on CRM it reflects their proper names. It has been roughly 20 hours since the names were changed.

I am using the standard Dynamics template that comes with 3CX without any modifications. I have a custom field called "new_extension" added on users in CRM, and this field is appropriately configured in 3CX. (Although I think this should only affect journals)

Any help would be appreciated.

A slight correction here - the LAN firewall is a Cisco ASA 5510, not a 5505. Although, I don't think it makes any difference.

Hello @ecris,

Please note that the contact name will be updated in 3CX when you receive the next call from this customer. Until then, you will see the default "New 3CX Contact" name, no matter how many hours pass from the initial call.

Regarding the synchronization issue with your deskphones, please post your question in the general forum, as that's a provisioning issue not related to the CRM integration. As a shot in the dark because I'm not an expert in this area, try restarting your phone, so it's reprovisioned from 3CX...

Kind regards.
