Hello, I just installed Elastix 5 to replace an Elastix 2.4 old asterisk. Almost everything is working, but I need to apply a Star key as a destination. I only see numbers from 0 to 9. There should be an advanced option to add the Star Key. I use that for a destination to change language. A need this, because I can't change the existing audio. Help please.

If you are just using * to switch language, why not use another options and nest IVRs?

Thanks for calling...
<press... options 1-8>
For Spanish, press 9
{9 goes to a another IVR}

As I explained I migrated from an old Elastix, it already has audio for english and spanish prerecorded for the IVR, I can't rerecord that and change the whole flow of the menu. It already says "press star key". It's easier to find a way to make it recognize the star key. Asterisk does it, why is it not possible with 3CX? There's gotta be a way.

Why is 0-9 the only options when * and # are also part of every phone system? Is there a custom way to add a destination with the * and add it to the IVR. I'm sure it's not impossible.

Hello @Pavel Perez

Please note that is not possible to assign the "*" as an option in a Digital receptionist. The available options are 0-9. You could however create a custom call flow with CFD. Keep in mind the CFD requires a PRO licence.

I was using it nested like you're saying, one to the other, only using * because that's how it was recorded and it is completely possible in Asterisk. Should be possible anywhere, I see no reason. * And # are part of every phone system.

I cannot go and do a new recording of a menu that has been working for customers for years.

Question for you - did you do a conversion or upgrade to 2.5 first? I'm looking at a similar system right now.

Sorry I don't have more info on using Star besides CFD

No. I installed the system starting from scratch, no upgrade.
CFD is not an option for me right now.
