Given the circumstances of 3CX Hosted, I completely understand why FXO Gateways are currently not an option. The issue, however, is that I have a few customers who need to utilize FXO, and have no other options.

Going forward, I would love to see options to handle connections to FXO and other devices that are currently limited by 3CX Hosted. If it could even be handled behind an SBC, or with a VPN config, that would be awesome. Just my two cents. I’d love to move everyone to SIP providers but at the end of the day, that just won’t work for every customer.

Could you elaborate deeper why the customer needs to utelize FXO pots?

For some of my customers it’s their only option due to cost, and some have fax lines that they use as well and while some SIP providers do support fax, many don’t. But the biggest thing is cost. If they already have a deal with their provider, they’re going to want to keep that deal.

Many of my customers are small businesses that can only afford whatever package deal their ISP can give them.

I would dought that DID and call rates are cheaper on FXO lines then on SIP Trunk providers.
Your SIP trunk provider does not need to be the same as your ISP and you can port your existing numbers. A local termination point on a cloud service is truly not a good solution, therefore we will not be adding FXO into our hosting options.

Inbound Fax can be handled by 3CX and converted to email, outbound can be made (if still needed) via an ATA connecting the existing fax machine.

Doubt all you want, just telling you what I know from my experience. Just giving feedback, if you choose to ignore it, thats fine just know that it’s something that is holding me back from getting a decent handful of customers on Hosted.

See, many of my customers use Comcast Business for their small business, and for many of them even if they just want internet Comcast often bundles at least one phone line in with it, so it’s cheaper to add 2–3 more lines than to also pay for another provider. I work primarily with small businesses, that’s the demographic in my area. They don’t have a budget or a will to work with numerous providers, they only want to pay one.

I think your response also partially disregarded what I said regarding the fax machine. Yes, 3CX and some SIP providers DO support fax, but not all SIP providers do, which results in a difficult situation.

Again, this is just my two cents on the matter and nothing more.
