LAB between 3CX and SBC

Hi

I wonder if anyone can give me any pointers or possible hacks to assist with my quest.

Currently, I am attempting to set up a lab for two main reasons

1/ allows us to test / break/ fix software/hardware without involving a live environment

2/ Will server as a nice showcase having many phones registered via different methods.

The current plan is to have 4 different subnets all separated by VLAN and routing where I have the following

LAN 1 = Local
LAN 2 = SBC
LAN 3 = WAN simulation
LAN 4 = Core for management

The idea is to have a SBC on LAN 2 talking to the 3CX on the core and also have a VPN from the 3CX system on the core to via the WAN simulation to the local setup.

In effect emulating a cloud platform but keeping everything local on the LAN where we will have a number of phones registered via each platform easily identifiable as their numbers will match that of the LAN, for instance, SBC LAN = 200 range, local LAN = 100 range.

Setting up the layer 2 and layer 3 stuff is all nice and easy, even the WAN setup was simple.

But I now face a bit of a challenge, I have spun up a 3CX in an ESXI, that's working well and will work well with local phones registering to it locally and won't be a problem.

However, my issue is I am attempting to spin up and register an SBC with the 3CX, however and this is the catch, both units currently reside on the same local subnet for testing purposes.
Once I manage to get them working i plan on moving the 3CX onto the core network and the SBC to the SBC subnet to simulate them being on different networks.

I'm also adding a WiFi setup so that we can link mobile devices in locally.

Any idea's how to hack this?

why not adding a 4G router to your scenario to use with SBC , behind a real other network your problem will be solved
 
The SBC needs an FQDN to function, so unless your local DNS server can be configured to resolve the FQDN to the local PBX IP it will probably not connect.

In addition, your edge router will probably block hairpin traffic and not allow the SBC to reconnect back to the same WAN IP from which it left
 
Does your ISP allow you to have two public IPs? I know mine does, but most customers are not aware of it.. You would have to use a modem, to a a switch, then to two routers, or, a router with one LAN port set to bypass. Worth asking, as it would give you a second public IP at the site. They may, of course, want an additional fee, but it would allow you to test remote devices.
