Hi,

I have a query regarding licensing and ring groups.

If I install an 8 consecutive user licence system with say 20 extensions, and configure a ring group to include 10 extensions, I assume calls to the ring group are classed as 10 consecutive calls (whilst the call is ringing at least)?

If so, how does this manifest itself?

Do only 8 of the 10 phones ring (and if so how is it determined which of the 10 ring)?

or

does the caller hear a licence limit reached error message instead of a ringing tone?

Thanks

Paul

It's not a "call" until one of the extensions answers, a talk-path has been established.

You can confirm that yourself using the Demo licence (two calls), and creating a ring-group with more than two extensions.

We have a live system (16SC) and have received Licence limit messages as below

License limit is reached, active calls: [2407,2431,2435,2438,2451,2477,2479,2482,2483,2484,2486,2490,2491,2492,2504,2505,2507]

I assume this then means there was actually 16 connected calls with talk paths live at that time and its in no way related to ring group size?

If you go back and check the logs, it should confirm that, or at least tell you what was going on at the time. Do any of the sets have options to ring a mobile simultaneously? I'm not sure if that sort of option can have an affect.
