Solved License Activaction

Hi everyone,

I tried to install 3CX 15.5 but my license doesn't work.

• Product cannot be activated because license key is for a previous version. Upgrade license key or purchase maintenance from https://customer.3cx.com/orderform/default.aspx

So, I tried to install 3CX 16 but it doesn't work for Windows Server 2012 R2

What is it my options to solve this?

V15.5 is not longer supported and new keys bought or created freely are made to run on V18.

Also, v15.5 is missing a few components to activate on the newer servers.

V16 should be able to install on 2012 R2 if you have the latest updates. However, the best thing for you would be to use v16 or v18 Debian ISO and run it on Linux instead. You save Windows licenses and prevent issues with future versions.

Also, if your license is older, it's probably v14 or something like that, which you need to trade-in for a newer one via a 3CX Partner, like us.

In this case, you will need to upgrade to Windows Server 2016 at least.
