We have a medical client who upgraded their license to 16sc during the pandemic due to Telehealth however it is now up for renewal and they wish to downgrade to 8sc.

Their license is up for renewal tomorrow.

As I understand there is no downgrade option can I simply create & utilise a new license, at the lower amount, and let the existing license expire?

There should be a downgrade option... Just select lower level of channels on portal. Let me know if you have an issue to downgrade

Hi Nick & thanks, no downgrade option I can see.

The number of channels cannot be decreased.

what I know is that you need to tell your customer to email directly to 3CX for the downgrade. Or you purchase a new lower capability license key for them and replace the existing license

Hi @Dercni

We currently do not have a downgrade option from the portal your options are the following :
1. As 58voip mentioned, you can contact 3CX (Customer Service can assist on this) to downgrade the licence and then you can purchase the renewal.
2. As you suggested is possible to buy a new key and replace the existing licence.
3. Wait until expiration of the current licence (it will be downgraded to 4SC Standard), then you will be able to upgrade the key.

I would like to just point out that option 3 is the least recomended because you will have some downgrade of services between the downgrade and upgrade time.

We also understand that the downgrade request is inconvenient, and we are looking into adding a downgrade option through the portal in the near future!

Hi,

I also need to downgrade our license to 16SC. Do I need to buy support to do a downgrade? Please let me know how I can do this.

Thanks,

Max
