Hi all suddenly this afternoon our linux instances on premise and self hosted are showing the following error on the license screen "(license_error.HttpsErr_InvalidTrustedStorage)", anyone else know what is causing this or is it a 3CX error.
Logging it with them too.

If the subscription expires while the system is still on a lower version than update 8 (Build 939), you renew the subscription. The system will not be able to communicate back to the activation server to get the renewal, and you will not be able to update it.

Please open a ticket with us at 3CX technical support through the portal (poeral.3cx.com) in such cases for us to advise.

I have a system that does not have the new hotfix and cannot install because the license expired. I have renewed the license but cannot sync it on the phone system because it is expired. cannot update due to expired, cannot renew because I cannot install the update.....

SO I am not sure what I need to do. I am on 18.0.5.418 and I renewed my license already - but currently it is saying it expired on 9/11/23 and I can not activate nor upgrade. My functionality is limited. How can I fix this?

@jholbrookFTLtechnology @craigreilly “Please open a ticket with us at 3CX technical support through the portal (portal.3cx.com)” (with fixed typo)

18u5 is before the previous cert/license fix as well. It probably couldn’t see the renewal.

I guess I'm going to my boss tomorrow for some money to get a support ticket...

To avoid that, in at least one of these threads the suggestion was to install the latest version and restore from backup.

I'm sorry we seem to be in the same boat... I've just paid £530 for a new licence and now I have to pay for a support ticket to resolve a 3CX issue?

You can ask your partner to open a ticket for you.

I have inherited our system from a previous colleague - we do not seem to have a partner associated with our account and we pay 3cx directly for the licence. If there is some specific command line instructions I need to run this is fine however there seems to be no guidance on this issue.

If you have a Active License and using a Debian server with access to SSH, you can update in command line, this will update to the latest 3cx update
Code:
ssh and run sudo apt-get upgrade

Thanks - is this advised by 3CX directly as a fix for this issue? I also read on the forum this is generally discouraged due to other packages getting updated? We have renewed our licence on the portal so is active there but our installation does not have an active licence as it has expired but can't check that it has been renewed?

Just a few days ago, I had a new install and could not activate, I used that method to get the update and it worked, normally I would not use this method, however due to the issue I had no other way to get the update, the only other way is a clean install, and restore a backup

Okay thank you for your advice. @Charles_3CX is 3CX planning to post some official advice regarding resolving this issue for self hosted customers without a partner? I assume they have been provided with some official advise on resolving?

I created a backup
uninstalled
download new windows exe
restored from backup

took under 20 minutes and back up and running.

Connect with Putty if you can and then just apt-get update & apt-get upgrade, worked for me

I have opened a ticket however I am not getting this resolved

I received a response saying to take a backup.
Uninstall current version.
Install new version.
Restore from backup.

I ran the apt-get upgrade problem solved thanks everyone in this thread, I am needing to migrate this install to a VM server I tried all day to do this and was not successful, I believe its networking thats the issue after I restore from Backup on the new iVM do I need to change the network address to what my current primary server is?

Is it not able to communicate out? FQDN not updated? Ideally yes use the same IP.
