morning all! just installed 3cx. so far i love it. however i am in an industry that has very tight compliance protocols. one example is i need to be able to limit the number of rings on an unanswered outbound call to 7. is there a way to control this in 3cx? thanks!

I don't know of a way to accomplish this in 3CX. Possibly it could be controlled by your SIP Trunk/Line provider.

While I've heard of providers dropping an unanswered, outbound call, after a given time (a minute or two), I can't recall hearing of a an option, that allows a customer to set this. This is not so say that there isn't someone that doesn't offer this.

As others have suggested, my first call would be to my SIP provider. If they can't handle it, then you could build a service that monitors outbound calls and terminates any calls that have been in the ringing state for more than X seconds.

My only concern is that this may be an approximate number of rings. I'm not sure if the 3CX Call Control API "ringing"event is precisely when the phone starts ringing. There may be some setup time, and the time needed might vary a little from one call to another. I think you could get an approximate 7 rings, but I'm not sure if you could get an exact 7 rings.

So what you do is hand instructions to the person making the call that says 'hang up after 7' rings. Works with every phone system ever made :)

How is this handled with your current system?
