Linking to Skype For Business

Hi,
How can i configure a sip trunk between 3cx V16 with skype for business 2020 (Both are on-premise),
i want to know 3cx-side configurations, what kind of sip trunk i must choose from the drop down list?
and does it work fine with NAT?

Hello @MA.Seif,

Skype for Business is End of Life, and only works for v15.5 as outlined here therefore we recommend using a supported SIP Trunk provider.

So let me be sure if i understood you correctly,
I have a 3cx Server and an skype for buisness server as well(both on-premise), i need to dial extensions of 3cx from the skype and vice versa (no call will be routed to an out of office destination).
and this is not possible, right?

As we've not tested this with Skype for Business 2020, I can't say. It may be possible but as it's unsupported I can't provide any further assistance. Perhaps someone else has tested this and may be able to answer.

It would appear you should be able to connect to any other SIP PBX, including (I assume) 3CX. The best method would probably be registering to a 3CX Bridge trunk.

(unfortunately, 3CX has removed this information from their site)

However, without confirmation from someone, that this has been proven to work (and there still could be a number of issues), you may have to do some trial and error. There are other PBX systems that do not "play well" over Bridge trunks. If 3CX can register to the Skype System, then a Generic trunk might work for certain types of calls, but again, there are going to be some limitations.
