when making outbound calls, i find it best to mimic as though i am local to the recipient, therefore i own a phone number for every area code in the USA. is there a way that i can toggle to use my local number on outbound calls?

I suggest searching the forums as it's been covered several times. You basically need to you use a 3rd party program like something from @voiptoys or setup multiple trunks (1 for every area code) and use outbound rules to route out the specific trunk based on the dialed number.

I'll bet.

Isn't this what new SPAM call rules are trying to prevent, calls coming from a non existent number? I find it best to not bother answering unknown calls, that have same area-code (and usually prefix), as my numbers(s), as they are inevitably robo-calls and extremely annoying. It is behaviour such as this that risks getting legitimate number spoofing (call forwarding), banned/blocked, as is already the case with some providers, and in some countries.
