We are looking to switch to 3cx from Allworx. But so far I have run into an issues that are preventing me from getting approval. I was hoping someone could assist.

Issue: Director wants only deskphones so soft phones are out. Users need to be able to specify what queue they are logging in/out of from a deskphone. I'm talking individual queues not all.

would be nice: BLF to show that they are signed in to said Queue.

I know softphones where are not required but i can't find a way to do the things we need without them.
I've searched and already seen all those. My question is is there a way from a deskphone to do them.

If the director agrees, you can show him the Webclient which has a complete switchboard and queue members status, etc.

His fear is someone tries to answer a call from there softphone and the call gets lost as the desktops are not setup with microphones/headsets. If there was a way to only receive calls on deskphones (Block calling/answering from softphones) they would probably be ok with it.

I have 3cx Demo up and running with a yealink T46S. Personally I would just do 90% of them with softphone Apps and get headsets instead of phones but the Higher ups are scared of that idea.

Well, the best idea is to use the Webclient only. No soft phones on Windows/Mac directly. Then, disable WebRTC globally so the webclient is forced to use CSTA on the deskphones. By default, the Webclient should use the deskphone unless there's none, in which case it defaults to Web Client softphone (there's one built-in in the WC).

That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Any idea where I disable WebRTC globally?

Under Settings -> General -> Enable WebRTC and related features

Alright! Good luck! The webclient does a lot more than just controlling the deskphone so show him everything ;)
