Manually installing on Debian

I'm sure that when I first started looking at 3CX some months ago there was an official guide to installing 3CX on Debian, in fact, I'm pretty sure I even followed that guide! However now I can't see such a guide, the 3CX website's only Linux option is to download the prebuilt ISO.
I'd much rather install it myself as the prebuilt ISO says "Do not install other packages or change the configuration.", but we need to install logging, vuln scanning, ldap auth, monitoring etc.

I still have instructions on how to manually install it, so I can still do it, but I'm concerned that it won't be a supported installation.

So am I likely to have any issues manually installing? and if I have a problem will support, support it?

And even before when you manually installed it the disclaimer to not install anything else was still there. But since people didn't listen and insisted on installing things along with 3CX or otherwise not following directions, the ISO is the only supported method.

Hi Jon,

We don't support adding extras, but if you want to do that anyway then use the ISO and then install your extras on top.

Remember though that if you run into issues and need to contact support, they will absolutely have to be made aware of the fact that there are 3rd party packages running on the machine, and will most likely ask you to replicate the issue with them removed from the machine.

Ok, duly noted! Adding extras to our servers is important to us and worth the trade-off.

That's not what your support guy said:

Even if your position was that you would not support an installation that had ever had anything extra installed. Yes it's still worth the trade-off to us as it's a trivial fix: spin up a new VM from the ISO and restore a 3CX backup.

From a risk management perspective, I don't want to fail a security audit as we have a server that doesn't have MFA or vulnerability scanning enabled. Compared that to a hypothetical risk that we might not be supported if an issue arose.
