Hello,

Yealink's T42/T46 models just only connects up to three participants on a conference. Is there any model or different brand (supported by 3CX) with more participants allowed?

Regards,

You can try the 3CX client for conference, or you can use Snom phones that make use of the 3CX conference server, passing the load on to the PBX rather than hosting the conference on the device.

You can also make use of the the 3CX Ad-hoc Conference calling feature with Yealink take a look here:
https://www.3cx.com/blog/voip-howto/create-conference-using-desk-phone/

Our customer wants to make the conference using directly the phone, others options you said are not valid for them now. I've been seen these options (supported phones):

  • Yealink (T2X, T4X…) only 3 participants, and CP960, T58A, VP59 up to 5 participants.
  • Grandstream 16XX up to 3 and GXP17XX y GXP21XX up to 4-5.
  • Snom up to 3 participants.
  • HTEK 8XX y 9XX up to 5 participants.
Thanks!

An easy way to do this without requiring conference IDs or PINs would be to:

  1. Blind-transfer your first participant to 700**{YOUR_EXT} which automatically creates a conference room
  2. Call your second participant and repeat, then your third and so on.
  3. They will enter the conference and be able to talk to each other, so now you should also dial in to 700**{YOUR_EXT} to join them.

This is effectively what the Snom phone and the 3CX client does, but you can also do it manually from your Yealink.
