Hi All,
I'm new to 3CX, so please bear with me.
I have a client that wishes to swap their 3CX management to us from a different IT company.
The previous IT company provided: a backup file, the current key and the FQDN.
From my research, I believe I need to complete the following:
- Link the client to our Partner Portal
- Shutdown the current instance.
- Purchase new host / server.
- Reinstall a new instance on the new server (restoring the backup file during this process)
I have a few questions first though:
- Can I link the client to our partner portal from within our partner portal somewhere? Or does this need to be done from the customer portal? They have already been unlinked from their current partner, but we don't have access to their customer portal to link to us.
- When restoring the backup, will I be prompted for the FQDN and License Key at that point (provided the backup was made without the FQDN & Key)?
- Provided the FQDN stays the same, do I need to do anything with SIP trunking, etc?
Alternatively, is this something I can pay the 3CX support team to do / to assist with? Is this a service they offer?
