Solved Migration from v16.0.8.9 Windows version to v18 Debian 10.11

Hi, please help me resolved my issue.

In version 16 I made a backup of only the configuration (excluded the License, custom templates, voicemails, recodings).
After installing v18 from ISO on new VM I get error "Invalid backup file" when uploading backup.


I would like to add that the backup file opens and it was not repacked. I try used to upload Chrome, Firefox, Edge.


Where can I find more logs?

What Service pack of v16 was the backup taken? It should be from the last one which is SP8 (16.0.8.9). I know you've already mentioned 16.0.8.9 but better we confirm it by checking the backup. Make a copy of the backup file so that we do not mess with the original and then open the copy backup file. Open the xml file in it's root directory and check the very top, you should see the exact version of the backup.

Yeah sure, I've already done it several times with different parameters(include License, Voicemails, Templates)

Can it be related to the fact that the windows system has German localization and the new linux has English localization?

It should not. As per our PM conversation, I just tested on a Debian 10 machine and it passes the validation. You said you used the 3CX v18 ISO, are you using the latest one as downloaded from the Customer portal? Also, what Hypervisor is the VM running on?

Yeah, I just downloaded it today. I am using HyperV on Windows Server 2016 Datacenter

Can you try uploading a backup from a separate PC and using Google Chrome in incognito mode? This is just to eliminate the possibility of the issue having to do with anything on the specific PC you're trying to upload the backup from.

Yes, I did everything according to these requirements.

I was able to solve the problem simply by restarting the virtual machine.
