Hi

I have the following setup for this site
Incoming calls go to a RING GROUP, then after 14 seconds forwarded to a user which sends the call straight to a Mobile number.

This worked on v18 but after the upgrade to v20 it will not work, I have tested this on another v20 setup and it works fine.

The calls are forwarded if you call the ring group from a user on the 3cx, but not from any external users.

i have removed and recreated all the ext's and Groups and also the SIP trunk but it still wont work.

Can you please advise?

Why not route directly to the external number from the ringgroup? You dont need any user to forward.

Check that you do have the option enabled on the system to allow forwarding to external numbers from the Ring Groups or Queues

I was wondering whether this could be some type of outbound rule issue. What do you see in the logs? It should list the reason the call could not be completed. Make sure you have verbose turned on.

I checked the option "allow forwarding from ring groups" and it was enabled.

I checked the vent log and didn't see anything from my last round of testing, but previously there was this
"
Warning
30052 01/07/2025 1:15 PM SIP Server 3cx There was no user or outbound rule found for the number 04xxxxxxxx that Ext.100 dialed."

Outbound Rule was party why i decided to delete and re-do the SIP trunk and outbound rules from scratch

Ah, I think we have found the issue. The PBX attempted to place the call, but was unable to find an outbound rule. You probably have restrictions that do not allow the call to be routed outside your PBX. Look at extension, group, or the number of digits restrictions. I'm confident this is an outbound rule problem.

I had a look at the outbound rule and I was restricting based on ext number, however when i stop doing that outbound calls stop working.

Show your outbound rule, There must be something wrong.

When a call is going from a queue or a ring group, you cannot have extensions or departments defined, just prefixes and/or digit lengths.

so if you have a rule which is only based on extension numbers, then removing the extensions will not have valid criteria to send the call out.
