Hi Guys,
I have a mobile number like +233XXXXXX, with an active call plan.
I want to set up a VoIP so that I can make calls through my laptop using internet, and i want the receivers of the call to see my mobile number.
Is that possible with 3CX.

Pardon me, i am very new to VOIP calls, et al.

Thanks.

You'd have to have a device (PSTN adapter?), that connects with your mobile phone (probably) using Bluetooth (and to 3CX), or moving the SIM to a mobile gateway, connected as a trunk to 3CX.

As far as the laptop, it could be a 3CX extension, but as far as connecting directly to the phone....maybe bluetooth, but there may be simpler ways of achieving what you want. Involving 3CX may be over-kill.

Hi @noe

You can get a SIP trunk for your 3CX installation that supported Clip No Screening (essentially spoofing numbers ) and use that to make calls. So you can use your mobile number as your outbound caller ID so when people call back they will reach your mobile phone and not 3CX. Again as @leejor mentioned this might be overkill if you are not making many calls.

I had great success doing exactly this with many SIP Trunk providers, some of them will want to verify that you actually, own the number by sending you an SMS or a call with a pin code, after that you can set your outgoing caller ID to that number when you dial out via 3CX and as long as the SIP trunk provider does not fight you, they'll see the mobile number.

Remember with SIP the outgoing and the incoming paths they are completely different usually and can be multiples on the outgoing, if provider A does not work out - call provider B and ask if they support sending blind CLI/CID or verified CLI/CID.
