Hi, I am after a little it of advice

I moved our 3cx instance to Azure while staff were working from home from a backup and switched off my onsite Debian 3cx vm.

I now want to move 3cx back onsite for staff coming back to the office.

What is the best way of doing this. I did wonder if I could turn my Azure one off and swtich my onsite one back on but some of the call history and voicemails might be lost.

Thanks in advice

Backup 3CX, turn off Azure
Restore 3CX onsite

Things to note: Deskphones will need re-provisioning to LAN if they're on same subnet as PBX.

Resend welcome email / Mobile apps will need reprovisioning to point to new WAN IP.

Hi, thanks for your response.
When I moved the 3cx to Azure all I did was switch my onsite instance off first, then all my windows phones started talking to the Azure instance.

Could I not use same onsite IP address to allow my deskphones to connect?

I dont know what your set up is for your phones but your desk phones will need reprovisioning to "LAN"

If you mean the 3CX Phone for Windows it should work (they reprovision at startup and get the new IP)

You might have to reinstall your local VM from scratch (to restore the backup properly) rather than try to restore the azure backup in the existing debian VM (for consistency and compatibility reasons).

Yeah I am thinking of reinstall the VM from scratch then applying the backup. I will give it the same internal IP so fingers crossed everything connects.

The alternative is leaving it on Azure and setting up a SBC on our 2 sites.

Yep, both solutions should work fine actually. Note that SBC is only required if you use deskphones.

If you only use software clients (Android/iOS/Windows apps) then the SBC is entirely unnecessary

We use both deskphones and softphones

Is there a good doc for adding an SBC and pointing the phones to it?

Once the SBC is added (with the linked guides above by @Saqqara ) then simply reset the remote phones (or reboot them if they are already reset).

They will then appear as "new" under your management console in the Phones tab. From there you can quickly select them and assign them to any extension with the buttons above.

Within 1-2 minutes you should see them appear as registered and ready to take calls.

In case you had "PBX Delivers Audio" on your extensions from before, you can now untick it and the audio will remain local when calling between extensions, saving you some bandwidth too.
