Hi guys,

I am looking to move a client from an in-house computer to a hosted server in AWS. Part of the instructions say to deactivate the license but when I go into the license area, there is no option to deactivate, only edit and a couple of other items. They are running v15.515502.6 Pro annual.

Is anyone aware on how to deactivate the license so I can move it to another computer?

Thanks, Rob.

Hi Rob,

You don't need to strictly de-activate it, simply take a backup (with licence details) and move across. Just be aware of Public IP and LAN IP changes when doing this (as you are now hosted elsewhere).

Thanks eddv123. I didnt think it had to be that complex!

Should be simple, especially with AWS - if find they have the most user friendly platform from those I've used.

Yep, all good. Built the Debian base and restored the backup without issue. Logged in and carried out installing all of the version updates to get it to find the activation server (it would be great to just have to do one roll-up update to catch up though).

Should't have had to do any updates. A brand new install should install v15.5 Update 6 right off the bat..
